113 police officers undergo PNP Scout Training

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – One hundred thirteen (113) police officers assigned from the different police units of Region 1 took part in the traditional reception rites that followed the opening ceremony of the Modified PNP Special Counter-Insurgency Operation Unit Training (SCOUT) II  last June 27.

Police Superintendent Robert S. Daculan, Training Manager of the Regional Special Training Unit 1 (RSTU1), formally announced the opening of the course which will be conducted at the training ground of the Police Regional Office (PRO1).

Police Chief Superintendent Franklin Jesus B. Bucayu; PRO1, Regional Director and Guest of Honor and Speaker, stressed to the students the increasing role of the PNP in the anti-insurgency campaign, and the corresponding need to further enhance the PNP’s Internal Security Operations (ISO) capability.

He exhorted the trainees to always uphold the law and respect human rights as they transform themselves into professional internal security specialists.

He also encouraged the students to make the most out of the special training, participate in all undertakings, and make a genuine effort to improve themselves.

The Modified PNP SCOUT is a rigid 45-day training designed to equip the police officers with the requisite skills and confidence that will give them a distinct advantage over those who threaten the internal security.

The PNP SCOUT students composed of two (2) Police Commissioned Officers and One Hundred Eleven (111) Police Non-Commissioned Officers from Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, La Union and the 1st Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB).#
