150 policemen undergo SWAT, SCOUT training

SAN FERNANDO CITY – PCSupt. Leopoldo Bataoil, PRO1 Director, said he expected the 150 policemen who have undergone rigid trainings on special weapons and tactics (SWAT) and special counter-insurgency operation unit training (SCOUT) to play a more active role in the fight against counter-insurgency, criminalities and terrorism in their area of responsibility.

Bataoil was the guest of honor and speaker during the graduation of the 78 SWAT and 72 SCOUT which was held at the grandstand here recently.

He said the policemen are now well-trained and capable of anti-terrorism operations, commando, sniping, bomb detection and disposal, assault on hostage takers and dragnet operations.

Regional Mobile Group 1 head P/Supt. Dionicio Borromeo Borromeo said the policemen are now ready for deployment “to fight the enemy of the state.”

He said the policemen are fully-equipped with automatic long firearms like M60 machine guns, Armalite rifles and M14 and light armor weapons.
