173 new police recruits to undergo one-year basic training

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO, San Fernando City – One hundred seventy-three new police recruits of the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) will undergo a one-year training at the Regional Training School after taking their oath December 3 here.

Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Police Senior Superintendent Jerome P. Pagaragan said all the 173 new police recruits, 149 males and 24 females, will undergo the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) at RTS1 in Aringay, La Union.

Upon finishing the basic recruit course, the new police officers will undergo a Field Training Program in different police stations and offices in region 1 to have an actual observation and experience in the fields of investigation, traffic, and patrol., Pagaragan added.

β€œThis is just the start of realizing your career in the police force, you will be trained with a cause to be responsible and disciplined cops,” Pagaragan reminded the new recruits.

In his message, Police Chief Superintendent Franklin Jesus B. Bucayu said that the 173 new police officers were the cream of the crop among the applicants and that they are expected to learn then contribute to the mission of PRO1.

The new police recruits will be given the rank of Police Officer 1 and will be receiving a monthly basic pay of P14,834 while undergoing training.#
