2 most wanted criminals in the region nabbed by the police

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO — Two most wanted criminals in the regional and provincial level fell into the hands of the law after several years of hiding.

Joint operatives of the Regional Mobile Group 1 and Mabini Police Station arrested Juancho L. Rausa, 43, married and a resident of Barangay Tagudin, Mabini, Pangasinan, by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court 1st Judicial Region Branch 70 in Burgos, Pangasinan on November 29, 2009.

Rausa was charged with arson and murder docketed under Criminal Case Nos. 314 and 315, respectively.

PCSupt Ramon V. Gatan, Region 1 police head, said Rausa was listed as the most wanted person in the region with a P300,000 reward approved under DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2004-168 dated December 13, 2004.

Meanwhile, in a separate police operation on November 24, 2009, the Provincial Intelligence Team (PIT) of Western Pangasinan, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) and Regional Intelligence Division (RID) arrested Mariano R. Arceno at Banaue Street, Barangay Mount View, Mariveles, Bataan.

Judge Jules A. Mejia of RTC Branch 70 issued the warrant for the arrest of Arceno on November 25, 2005.

Arceno was charged with rape, docketed under Criminal Case No. B-122-125 and listed as the most wanted person in Pangasinan with a monetary reward of P200,000 approved under DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2006-146 dated October 26, 2006.

Gatan said that the arrest of Rausa and Arceno is a result of the relentless campaign of the Region 1 police against most wanted persons. The two MWPs were turned-over to their respective court of origin after proper documentation.

“We will continue our commitment in addressing the neutralization of other MWPs and we’ll keep on tapping the help of the community to monitor their whereabouts to bring them to the law and give justice to the victims,” Gatan added.

Gatan commended the operatives for their exemplary police work, and the community for their support and cooperation that led to the arrest of the two wanted persons. #
