DA holds assessment, planning workshop of GMA corn, cassava program

VIGAN CITY – The Department of Agriculture Regional Office I held a “1st Semester Assessment and Planning Workshop for Ginintuang Masaganang Ani Corn and Cassava Program” at the RF Aniceto Mansion here recently.

Ferdinand Matro, regional corn coordinator, said the workshop is aimed to give the participants ample opportunity to assess and plan for a more fruitful GMA Corn and Cassava Program.

The seminar workshop was participated in by the corn coordinators and other DA employees in the different provincial agriculture offices in Region I who were especially designated under the GMA Corn and Cassava Production Program of the Agriculture Department.

The following served as resource speakers with their corresponding topics: Milo de los Reyes, GMA Corn Program Coordinator for Luzon – Direction for Corn Program and Prospective for Cassava; Regional Corn Coordinator Ferdinand Matro – Overview of the Assessment and Planning Workshop; Jonel Corpuz, Quedancor Dist. Manager – Credit Assistance Program: Quedancor Style; Jaime Cruz, Jr., Head of La Union-Ilocos Lending Center – Credit Assistance from Land Bank of the Philippines.

BIO Project leader Nelly Antolin report on the BIO accomplishment, while Rhoda A. Galban, regional corn report officer, gave the corresponding physical accomplishment.

The following served as area coordinators for the GMA Corn and Cassava Program in the different provincial agriculture offices of the Region: Mauro Guico – Pangasinan; Ramon Halog – La Union; Junico Macoco – Ilocos Norte; and Oscar Tobia – Ilocos Sur.
