BACNOTAN, La Union – Four suspected members of a notorious syndicate involved in bank and pawnshop robberies in Northern Luzon were stabbed to death here on Saturday morning, Dec. 16.
The two bodies were found along the national highway in Sitio Bagbag, Quirino, Bacnotan town at six in the morning of Dec. 16, while another two bodies were found in Almeda, Balaoan inside a gray Kia Besta van with no plate number.
Responding policemen recovered at the crime scene an acetelyn tank, bolt cutter, four screw bars, hand drill, 3 screw drivers, knife, flashlights and other tools.
The police did not find any identification or document to identify the victims who were around 22-40 years old.
PNP Regional Director PCSupt. Leopoldo Bataoil ordered a thorough investigation behind the killing and to confirm reports of their involvement in a series of robberies in San Quintin, Pangasinan, Candon City and Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur.
