Two poems

Once I was afraid to bloom, scared to try

Questioned all, even the mighty sky

Wondered bits and pieces, asked why

But you replied, “Answers in time shall come by.”

1. ODE TO FANTASY

Once I was afraid to bloom, scared to try
Questioned all, even the mighty sky
Wondered bits and pieces, asked why
But you replied, “Answers in time shall come by.”
In silence, I am visited by a mind’s-eye:
A flight of imagination, nothing but a lie!
Seize it as a treasured gift; tell me, should I?
Or remain in slumber, must it die?
Castles in the air, shall I bid goodbye?
Or enjoy my heartbeat’s chant of a lullaby?
Will I ignore the pain and heave a deep sigh
Wipe the tears, won’t I dare cry?
You once told me:
“Be like a marred eagle that tries to fly
Go discover the heavens, ascend and soar high
No need to chase a fantasy, just turn a blind eye
Be alive with reality, soon happiness will amplify!”
And so, I still ask a couple of how’s and why’s
But your words, in my heart lingers
Afraid of some things still, but just sometimes
Now I know: fa fantasies can be fulfilled dreams.

2. NOTHING BUT FANTASY

my heart shall not wary
if I profess to be in love today
yes I am, without hypocrisy!
so relieved to feel it this way.
but when love reaches finality
memories will linger surely
of whispers’ unprecedented hilarity
the wrath, the pain shall but stay
forever, who can tell might be?
“love is a many splendid feeling,” so they say
“and comes in magnitude!” if I may
just a flitting busy-bee
from bud to bud sipping gently
love’s greatest potion of mystery
of promises and vows truly
are nothing but mere fantasy.
err, you think you’re in love one day
feel, enjoy and let it pass gracefully
then, realize  it’s but a cruel fallacy
of a lonesome, dreary heart’s inanity.
but no matter how stormy
(or seldom moments are sunny)
loving someone genuinely,
i’m glad, love came my way!
