Suspect in Greenbelt robbery surrenders in Pangasinan

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – A suspect in a watch store robbery in Makati City surrendered in Pangasinan on Monday (November 2) to Region 1 police led by Police Chief Superintendent Ramon V. Gatan, head of the Police Regional Office 1 here.

Gatan identified the suspect as Jose Warlito C. Rodriguito, alyas “Wal-let”, 52, married, a resident of San Rafael Centro, San Nicolas, Pangasinan and a former member of the Philippine Army.

Gatan and Police Senior Supt. Percival G. Barba, Pangasinan Provincial Police Director initiated the nego-tiation for the surrender of Rodriguito.

On questioning, Rodriguito admitted that he is a member of the Alvin Flores Group, an Police Director initiated the negotiation for the surrender of Rodriguito.

On questioning, Rodriguito admitted that he is a member of the Alvin Flores Group, an organized crime group responsible for robberies in Luzon, including that of the Rolex Department Store in Greenbelt 5, Makati City last October 18.

“Rodriguito admitted participation in the Makati heist as security/look-out of the group,” Gatan said.

Rodriguito likewise revealed that prior to the Greenbelt robbery, they stayed in a safe house located in Bulacan province and that the group used three vehicles with unknown plate numbers, a black Isuzu Trooper, a sky-blue Honda City and an ivory-colored Toyota Corolla.

Gatan added that Rodriguito identified Alvin Flores and a certain Joseph as the leader and assistant leader of the group, and the members as Armand Domingo, who was killed during the Makati robbery, Dennis Serquina, who was arrested in October 31 in Umingan, Pangasinan, Jay-ar Saldivar, Roger Carbonnel, alyas “Mata”, and six others, known only as Katawan, Taba, Ka Romy, Toling, Alvin and Boyet..

Alvin Flores and three other alleged members of the robbery gang were reportedly killed in a shootout with combined elements of the PNP and the National Bureau of Investigation in a beach resort in Cebu City last week.#
