Marcos, 5 others recognized by PRO1

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – The Police Regional Office here has recognized five personalities from the civilian sector in a ceremony that coincided with the first command visit of the Chief of the Philippine National Police here recently.

PNP Chief Director General Nicanor A. Bartolome handed out plaques of recognition to  Ilocos Norte Governor Imee R. Marcos, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) Maria Victoria C. Pineda,  and San Marcos, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte Barangay Chairman Randy G. Dipasupil for their valuable contribution to PRO1’s campaign against insurgency and criminality in the region.

Police Chief Superintendent Franklin Jesus B. Bucayu, Region 1 police director said, PRO1 recognized Governor Marcos for her significant role in the crafting and issuance of Provincial Executive Order Number 22-10 that paved the way for the creation of Ilocos Norte Provincial Anti-Partisan Armed Group (PAPAG).

Pineda was recognized for her professionalism in the for-mulation of intelligence policies and directives necessary in the campaign against insurgency and criminality in the region and Dipasupil for his invaluable support in the PNP’s peace-keeping and anti-criminality initiatives.

Dipasupil reported to the police four suspicious looking male persons who crossed the river in his barangay that resulted to the arrest of two (2) suspects and two cohorts who allegedly robbed the Coca-Cola Warehouse in Lydia, Marcos, Ilocos Norte sometime in July 2011.

Bartolome also presented plaques of appreciation to Abono Party List Chairman Rosendo Ong So  and Reverend Mariano C. Apilado, Union Christian Leaders Advocate- Peacebuilders, La Union.

So provided financial assist-ance for the repair and refurbishment of t20 M16 and 5 M14 rifles of Regional Public Safety Battalion 1 (RPSB1) while Apilado was active in supporting the values formation initiatives of PRO1 for the attainment of a highly capable, effective and credible police force.#
