BAUANG, La Union – To refresh the cops on the procedures in recording crimes and entering data both in the police blotter and database of Crime Incident Reporting System (CIRS), the Police Regional Ofice conducted a seminar-workshop on e-Projects, performance audit and validation at the Ariana Hotel and Restaurant in Paringao, this town on June 9-13, 2014.
Region 1 Police Director Chief Superintendent Roman A. Felix said 625 police personnel assigned with the police provincial offices (PPOs) of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan and National Support Units (NSUs) participated in the five-day seminar-workshop that culminated on June 13.
Chief Supt. Roman A. Felix stressed that the seminar-workshop was conducted to refresh the cops on their mandated task particularly on the procedures in recording crimes and entering data both in the police blotter and database of Crime Incident Reporting System (CIRS).
The participants underwent lectures and practical exercises on the rudiments of modern and effective investigation and detection and on the new CIRS to ensure a uniformed procedure in treating report of crime incidents, arrests and other events or activities in all the PNP units.
The five-day seminar-workshop was initiated by the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM) in Camp Crame for provincial directors (PDs), chiefs of provincial investigation and detective management branch (PIDMB), chiefs of police (COPs), investigators of police stations, crime registrars, and all e-warrants police non-commissioned officers (PNCOs) due to observations of deliberate under-reporting of crime incidents.
A performance audit and validation was also conducted to ensure that every unit comes up with an effective, efficient, reliable investigative methodology that include the existing e-projects like e-blotter, e-rogue gallery, e-warrant, and e-subpoena.#
