CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – Major General Glorioso M. Miranda, Commander of 7th Infantry Division (7ID) of the Philippine Army and Police Chief Superintendent Roman A. Felix, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) signed the Joint Security Plan 01-2015 dubbed as AMIANAN in a ceremony held at the Masigasig Center here on June 1.
The Joint Security Plan is a shared venture of the 7ID and PRO1 with the end purpose of boosting the on-going anti-criminality campaign particularly on internal security operations (ISO).
Police Chief Supt. Felix said the plan was formulated to provide operational guidelines and procedures to be followed by 7ID and PRO1 in the conduct of joint security operations in addressing the peace and security concerns in the areas of concern.
Major Gen. Miranda added that the plan’s mission is to degrade the armed threat groups, enforce the law, maintain peace and order and prevent and control crimes in order to create an environment conducive for sustainable development towards peace, progress and prosperity.
The plan will employ the “Whole of Nation Approach” and “People-Centered Approach” as strategies in the said endeavor.
The formulation of AMIANAN is in compliance with the mandates of the AFP and PNP particularly in addressing all peace and security concern and the increasing situation of insurgency in some rural areas of Ilocos Sur.#
