The search for the best agriculture story and other shining examples of agricultural journalism in the country is now open, Phillip Morris Fortune Tobacco Corporation, Inc. recently.
Launched in 2007 by the PMFTC Inc., the Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards continues to acclaim works that bring to the public eye the struggles and triumphs of those involved in the country’s oldest and most socially and culturally significant industry—agriculture—through awards in the fields in writing, photography, and broadcasting.
Now on its 11th year, the Awards invites journalists from all over the Philippines to join this year’s Awards, for a chance to bring home the prize for the following categories:
Agriculture Story of the Year
Agriculture Photo of the Year
Tobacco Story of the Year
Tobacco Photo of the Year
Best Television Program or Segment
Best Agriculture News Story National
Best Agriculture News Story Regional
Best Agriculture Feature Story National
Best Agriculture Feature Story Regional
Meanwhile, winners of the Award in previous years are given the chance to qualify for the Oriental Leaf Award, a special award given to those who have won five consecutive Bright Leaf Agriculture awards in any category.
Journalists or photographers may submit more than one entries, but one particular entry may not be entered in more than one category. (Tawid News)
