Zero casualty. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Sep 16 reported that Ilocos Norte sustained an initial P2.3B in agricultural and infrastructural damages due to Typhoon “Ompong”. In terms of human life, zero casualties were recorded. General Roy A. Cimatu, Environment and Natural Resources secretary, commented, “This is an indication of the anti-disaster consistence of the Ilocanos, especially from Ilocos Norte, with the leadership of the governor.” (photo/text by PGIN CMO)
