315 newly appointed members of Region 1 Police take oath of office

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – A total of 315 newly appointed police recruits took their oath at Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) Grandstand on Monday October 22, 2018 at 10:00 in the morning.

Police Chief Superintendent Romulo E. Sapitula, Regional Director of PRO1 administered their oath of office and congratulated them for passing the rigid screening process set by the PNP and strictly implemented by the PRO1’s Regional Screening Committee (RSC).

In his message,  PCSupt  Sapitula stressed that as police officers, the new recruits are expected to fulfill, protect and respect human rights as they perform their duties – to serve and protect, – and live with the maxim that Police Regional Office 1 is the “Home of the Citizen Friendly Policemen and Protectors of Human Rights.”

“Ang panunumpa ninyo sa inyong kasalukuyang katungkulan ay simula pa lang ng marami at mas matindi pang pagsubok na inyong kakaharapin bilang alagad ng batas. Sa unang yugto ng inyong pagiging pulis ay kakailanganin ninyo ang mas ibayong pagtitiis at pagsasakripisyo higit sa lahat ang mas malakas na pananalig sa Panginoon,” PCSupt Sapitula said.

The Regional Director also emphasized to the recruits to maintain great desire and make every challenge as their inspiration, for hardships are always part of success. “It is where you will start creating change – to improve yourself contributes to the improvement of the whole police organization. Keep in mind that every effort you will do, every step you make towards being a truly transformed person, leads to a bigger and better change,” he added.

The 315 new police recruits composed of 70 females and 245 males were sent to the Regional Training Center 1 (RTC 1) in Aringay, La Union to undergo the 6 months Public Safety Basic Recruit Course and afterwards the Field Training Program for another 6 months before their actual deployment to the field.

A  PO1, the lowest rank in the PNP Organization will be receiving a monthly basic pay of P29, 668.00 exclusive of allowances while undergoing training. (PR – PNP PRO1 PIO)
