AGOO, La Union – Around 400 families who are beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) participated in the Department of Social Welfare and Development – FO1 4Ps Family Day 2017 celebration which was held at the Don Mariano Memorial Marcos State University (DMMMSU) South La Union Campus (SLUC), this town on September 30, 2017.
As one of the active partners of DSWD, National Nutrition Council Region 1 joins the other regional line agencies that included Philhealth, Commission on Population-ROI, Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC), Department of Health and other Non-Government Organizations that provided information and health services such as Weight and Height taking, Computation of Body Mass Index (BMI), Computation of Desirable Body Weight (DBW) and Nutrition Counseling for different age groups to around 82 beneficiaries.
In his message, Agoo SB Member Antonio Eslao, Chairperson for Committee on Social Services, enjoined the local government units and agencies to willingly extend their help to achieve a better tomorrow.
“Where you are today will not always be where you will stay. Tatawid tayo…tatawid tayo tungo sa pag-unlad!” he said.
The highlight of the celebration is the awarding of the Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya 2017 to the Balangyao Family of Ilocos Sur and Galiste Family of La Union. (Source: NNC Facebook)
