47 PRO1 cops hurdle Investigation Officers Basic Course

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – Forty-seven Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) successfully completed the Investigation Officers Basic Course (IOBC) and received their graduation certificates during a simple ceremony held at the Concord Building here March 31.

The graduates were composed of PCOs from the regional, provincial and municipal police offices. They started the course on December 11, 2014 under the supervision of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD).

Police Chief Superintendent Roman A. Felix, PRO1 regional director, graced the occasion and said that he expects the graduates to improve the case solution and clearance efficiency.

“I encourage therefore all investigators of PRO1 to solve at least 5% of these cases,” Felix added.

The conduct of IOBC in PRO1 is to raise the competency of investigators, with the view of improving the conviction rate. The just-concluded training is the second off-campus IOBC held in Region 1.

Police Inspector Roberto C. Valiente garnered the highest grade of 89.912%, followed by PInsp. Marles J. Tayambong with a grade of 89.905% and PInsp. Mariza B. Patacsil with a grade of 89.329%.#
