CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO — The Police Regional Office (PRO1) here received last December 9 five Toyota Innova police vehicles from the PNP National Headquarters as part of the police organization’s modernization program.
In a simple program held at the PRO1 grandstand here, Police Chief Superintendent Roman A. Felix, PRO1 Deputy Regional Director for Administration, presided over the ceremonial acceptance of the said vehicles from the representative of the PNP Directorate for Logistics, and subsequently turned them over to the various recipient offices, namely, the four police provincial offices of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan; and one for the PRO1 Headquarters
In his message, Felix pointed out that the issuance of the vehicles is part of the capability enhancement component of the PNP Chief’s 10-Point Action Plan, particularly on the continous build-up of police equipage.
Felix reminded the recipients that the vehicles should be “for official use only” and should not be used for private purposes.
“I also expect the designated drivers to strictly observe proper care and maintenance of these vehicles. You should be responsible and accountable for them, and appropriate procedures should be adopted to pinpoint liability in case of vehicle damage,” he added.
Meanwhile, two Honda 200 cc motorcycles donated by Congressman Eufranio Eriguel of the 2nd District of La Union were awarded to the 1st Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB1) during the Monday flag-raising ceremony last December 12.
Moreover, ten computer sets from the Program Management Office (PMO) of the PNP were distributed to San Juan and Burgos Municipal Police Stations (MPS) in La Union; Cervantes MPS, Sta. Cruz MPS, San Emilio MPS, and Lidlidda MPS, all in Ilocos Sur; the 1st Regional Public Safety Battalion; the Regional Operations and Plans Division; and the Office of the Regional Chief Directorial Staff.#
