Vigan’s Raniag Festival, the brightest festival in Northern Luzon, was made even brighter by celebrity chef, Donita Rose. The former MTV Asia VJ, TV host and actress together with Fly Ace representatives hosted a Meet-and-Greet and Cooking Demonstration to promote healthier cooking using Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil.
Media and retail partners were treated to a hearty buffet dinner during the Meet and Greet at Hotel Luna on October 20, 2018, as Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil Ambassador Chef Donita Rose explained some of the benefits of using the product.
Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil is packed with good fats Omega 3 and 6 that are great for the heart and has one of the lowest saturated or bad fats among all kinds of cooking oils. It also has Vitamin A that helps improve eyesight. The high smoking point and neutral smell and taste makes the cooking oil also ideal for baking.
During dinner, I was fortunate to have Ms. Zen Prudentino, Fly Ace Corporation Manager for Edible Oils, sit beside us. She explained their advocacy in educating Filipinos nationwide about the importance of using heart-healthy cooking oil in everyday cooking, without needing to sacrifice taste and flavor.
She also shared that apart from promoting their products, they also want to encourage Filipinos to travel and experience the many festivals around the country and to sample the different dishes unique to each province. “Ang ganda ng Pilipinas at ang sarap ng pagkain natin!” she said with enthusiasm.
Chef Donita was an amazing host. Her jokes were on point. Everyone enjoyed the presentation and had a good laugh too.
Ms. Prudentino was also incredibly gracious to invite us to the VIP area of the GMA Kapuso Day show, where Chef Donita had a cooking demonstration of her own version of the Ilocano dish, “imbaliktad.” Free sampling of the dish was later distributed to the crowd by students of the University of Northern Philippines.
Chef Donita Rose, together with GMA and Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil, will next be joining and preparing heart-healthy dishes for the Aklanons as they celebrate Ati-Atihan Festival in January next year.
