Bus inspector stabbed by conductor over fare collection

STA. MARIA, Ilocos Sur – Fare collection was the alleged motive in the stabbing of a bus inspector that took place in front of Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College, Poblacion Norte, this town at 10:20 pm on March 22.

Romulo Gabriel y Pardian, 38, married, Fariñas bus inspector, and a resident of Barangay 26, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte was rushed by his companion to the Sto. Niño Hospital after he was stabbed by Arnel Manalili y Yasay, 54, married, bus conductor of the same transportation firm, and a resident of Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.

The victim was later transferred to Metro Vigan Cooperative Hospital, Bantay, Ilocos Sur for further medical treatment.

The suspect fled, bringing with him the weapon used and the P28,000.00 fare collection.#
