DILG holds LGU Sharing on Best Practices

VIGAN CITY – The Department of Interior and Local Government Region I and LMP Ilocos Sur jointly conducted a Forum on LGU Sharing of Best/Innovative Practices to commemorate the 21st year of the Local Government Code of 1991 recently.

According to Regional Director Corazon Guray, this is to recognize the best practices of several LGUs that can be replicated by the other municipalities in Ilocos Sur.

Vigan City presented best performing city/child governance, Candon City presented streamlined business permit and licensing, Caoayan shared its One Barangay One Product, the provincial government shared the program on disaster preparedness, Sto. Domingo presented economic governance and Pug-os, Cabugao shared barangay governance.

Guray also announced that four municipalities in Ilocos Sur were granted funds from the Salin-Tubig Waterworks: Suyo (P3.5 million), Sta. Lucia and Magsingal (P1.5 million each), and San Vicente (P.5 million). (Mancielito S. Tacadena)
