Instant baby foods and snack curls are two affordable and nutritious complementary foods technologically developed by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
The Long Live Pharma, a local enterprise owned by Mr. and Mrs. Racky D. Doctor, with address located at Barangay Malanay, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, has adapted this technology to manufacture complementary foods for children with the product brand RIMO (Rice Mongo) Curls and Blends.
They introduced the products during the 2nd RLNAOs meeting held at Alad Bar Resort, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur on June 27, 2013.
The husband and wife entrepreneurs enlisted the assistance of the local government units through their respective nutrition action officers for the promotion of their complementary food products in their nutrition program to address malnutrition problems in the region as well as the country.
Long Live Pharma has its own plant equipped with a mechanized pulvorizer, mixer, extruder and oven which has the capacity to produce 430,000 packs at 30 grams per pack of instant baby foods and curls monthly. The facility can cater to the needs of malnourished children not only in the region but also in other areas.
