Gov Ryan: teachers touch lives, mold dreams

BANTAY, Ilocos Sur – Once again, the Father of the Province, acknowledged the teachers for living their profession as role models by living the teachings they impart.

“You are our source of inspiration as you change lives; you touch lives, you mold dreams,” Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Luis Singson stressed as he poured lavish praises to the thousands of Ilocos Sur teachers who attended the 2019 Teachers’ Day Congress at the Quirino Stadium here, October 4.

He said that teachers are important in the Ilocano community because they prepare and influence tomorrow’s leaders, professionals and the youth and that they impart social values such as sharing, respect, valuing differences and making ethical decisions.

“We thank you for being patient and creative in your teaching methods and for mentoring in positive ways. We thank you for being a source of support to our children,” he said.

He also thanked the teachers for giving their lives to the teaching profession.

“You really are heroes,” he said.

As a token of gratitude, the Provincial Government through Gov. Singson awarded P10,000 each to the outstanding teachers, head teachers and school heads.

The 2019 Teachers’ Day celebrations revolved around the theme: “Gurong Pilipino: Handa sa Makabagong Pagbabago.”

It also also marked the return of Schools Division Superintendent Jorge Reinante to the Division of Ilocos Sur taking over the seat vacated by SDS Gemma Tacuycuy who was transferred to the Vigan City Division.
