VIGAN CITY — Gov. Ryan Luis V. Singson released a statement via his Facebook page this evening, March 29, announcing that the test results for six PUIs in Ilocos Sur have returned negative.
Among them is the patient from Magsingal town who was previously considered a highly probable case. The other PUIs include 2 patients from Bantay, 1 from Cabugao, 1 from Candon and 1 from Santa.
Gov. Singson is lifting the lockdown of Barangay San Vicente in Magsingal tomorrow March 30, because the barangay has completed the 14-day incubation period since the PUI arrived in the community. However, its residents are still required to maintain strict home quarantine and undergo health monitoring for an additional 7 days as recommended by medical experts.
As for the PUI from Magsingal, health professionals are still convinced that the case is consistent with COVID-19 despite the negative test, according to the statement.
“For the safety of every Ilocos Surian,… he shall continue to undergo medical treatment and shall remain isolated for another 14 days,” the governor said.
