Ilocos Norte police nab two suspected drug personalities

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO- The Ilocos Norte police scored in its campaign on illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs with the arrest of two suspected drug personalities in Barangay Quiling Sur, Batac City, Ilocos Norte on February 27.

Police Senior Superintendent Moro Virgilio M. Lazo, Officer-in-Charge of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) said Russel G. Tolentino and Dexter D. Padulip, both of legal age and residents of the said place, were arrested during an operation conducted by the police on the said date.

Based on reports reaching the headquarters here, the police seized in the house of Tolentino one  caliber .45 Colt with Serial Number 976315; 2 cal.45 magazines, 23 cal. 45 ammunitions, a night vision goggle, a sachet of suspected shabu, a Honda motorcycle without plate number, an Osirock polo watch and cash money amounting to P5,740.00.

The police likewise, confiscated in the house of Dexter, one Smith and Wesson .357 revolver, assorted ammunitions, 7 sachets of suspected shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, a cellular phone, a galvanized panel box, and a bladed weapon.

Lazo said the operation was successful due to the active participation of the residents who tipped off police authorities on the illegal activities of the suspects.

He also added that the police under his watch will intensify its campaign against loose firearms in the region even as PRO1 continues to fortify the implementation of the new firearms law and their .

Lazo said a request for verification with the Firearms and Explosive Division in Camp Crame has been sent to check if the confiscated firearms were licensed while cases for violation of Republic Act 10591 and Republic Act 9165 have been filed in court against the suspects.#
