SAN FERNANDO CITY,– The regional welfare office of the Overseas Worker’s Welfare Administration (OWWA-RWO1) got the seal of excellence for an excellent score card in the implementation of its Citizens’ Charter.
The award is a first for a government agency based in La Union. Awarding ceremonies will be held on August 12 in Manila.
Representatives from the Civil Service Commission-La Union Field Office and the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University gave OWWA the excellent rating based on a Report Card Survey administered separately to 30 clients from March 25 and 26 and on April 4.
Labor Communication Officer Amapola Z. Villar said the survey determined OWWA’s compliance with its Charter particularly on customer satisfaction and compliance with the Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA).
The agency got an over-all final numerical rating of 90.54 rated as excellent.
Villar said agency obtained high compliance with the ARTA provisions based on the rating given by clients who sought various OWWA assistance namely: scholarship programs, livelihood assistance, services for displaced workers and other programs for OFWs and families from.
She noted that the agency got high ARTA compliance mark because of its no-hidden-cost and no-lunch break policies including wearing of identification cards and nameplates and public assistance and complaints desk.
Villar said another set of CSC validators from other regions will conduct a surprise visit to re-validate the rating obtained.
Unknown to agency personnel, CSC validator Jovy Miguel posed as a client and found that OWWA begins to transact with clients who arrive before office hours.
Villar said teamwork played an important role in the agency’s excellent rating.#
