SAN JUAN, ILOCOS SUR — Fifty seven Junior High School (JHS) teacher-applicants for Cluster 4 underwent 3 important phases of their teaching application: demonstration teaching, skills validation and behavioral interviews during the screening of teacher applicants at San Juan National High School here, Feb. 9.
Division Supervisor Nestor Villaflor, a member of the selection committee assigned to interview applicants, said that the result of each phase are critical areas in their (applicants) bid to be included in the Division Registry of Qualified Applicants (RQA) which serves as the pool from where to get teachers for employment in case of vacancy or when there are new items to fill up.
“They earn points here which will be added to their educational qualifications and trainings plus the result of their English proficiency test,” he said.
He clarified that only those who earn a rating of 70% and above are included in the RQA.
Not included in the screening processes are the teacher-applicants from Cabugao and Sinait towns due to travel restrictions in these areas.
“They will have a separate schedule. As for the applicants from other provinces, they will undergo a virtual demo, interview and skills validation,” he said.
The other venues for screening teacher applicants were: Cluster I-Mabilbila Integrated School and Bantay NHS; Cluster II-Sta. Maria West CS and Sta. Maria NHS and Cluster III at Sta. Cruz CS and Teodoro Hernaez NHS.
