Lacson, Honasan donate computers to PRO 1

Two senators turned over  twenty five sets of brand new computers with printers and scanners to La Union Police Provincial Office last December 13.

Senator Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson and, founding Chairman of PNP Foundation, Incorporated (PNPFI), together with  Senator Gregorio “Gringo” B. Honasan  led the signing of the deed of donation and ceremonial turn-over of the computer equipments to Police Senior Superintendent Jerome P. Pagaragan, deputy regional director for Administration, PSSupt. Manolito C. Labador, deputy regional director for Operations, and PSSupt. Ramon O. Purugganan, provincial police director of La Union.

La Union government officials led by San Fernando City Mayor Pablo Ortega, punong barangays, and Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) attended the simple ceremony which was held at the Provincial Police Office 1 here on the said date.

Lacson cited La Union for historically being one of the most peaceful provinces with low crime rate even as he urged all PNP personnel in the region to continue performing their duty with the best  of their abilities.

Lacson said that the fund for the purchase of the computers came from the earnings of the foundation, through civilian sector’s initiative, with the PNP as its sole beneficiary.

Honasan, the guest of honor and speaker of the event, said that modernization is not only through modern technology but also in relation to giving quality public service and fighting and winning the hearts and minds of the people.

“Despite public criticism at times, let us continue to serve the people for it is our duty to restore the image of a good public servant…. we must not restrain our service to God, to our country, to our people, continue to be competitive for the ultimate cause of having a politically united, peaceful, safe and progressive country for better future of our children, our most strategic resources who will become leaders in their own time.” he stressed

The two senators emphasized the importance of cooperation, coordination, and working together to effectively serve the public.#
