MARKET DAY UNDER QUARANTINE. Residents from other towns adjacent to Vigan City, with their bags of groceries and trays of eggs, wear masks and practice social distancing as they wait for the government vehicles to bring them back to their home town. They were previously checked for their barangay pass and body temperature before they were allowed inside the market. These rules now constitute the “new normal” for market-goers since the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine over Luzon. Because the city market is still the biggest wet market in the area, and due to the presence of big groceries in the vicinity, people from neighboring towns still prefer to come to Vigan to buy food and other household needs.
