STA. CATALINA, Ilocos Sur – Mayor Juan Redoble said that looking for viable markets for diversified crops here is their job as municipal officials.
Redoble said it is one of his administration’s program thrusts to look into the welfare of the people of Sta. Catalina who are publicly known as producers of different kinds of agricultural crops.
“This is also the very reason why the municipality of Sta. Catalina has been considered as the vegetable bowl of Ilocos Sur,” the mayor said.
Applying the principle of crop rotation and diversifed cropping, the farmers here were able to produce various kinds of crops such as onion, cabbage, cauliflower, peppers and others.
“We are trying our best to look for more markets of our agricultural produce,” Redoble said.
