QUEZON CITY – The National Nutrition Council has formulated its first strategic plan for web operations during the Web Team and Regional Publishers’ General Assembly and Capacity Building Workshop, held at Hotel 878, Libis, Quezon City on February 12-14, 2014.
A first among government agencies, NNC Executive Director and Website Manager and
Editor A/Sec. Maria-Bernardita T. Flores headed the formulation of the strategic plan for 2014-2016 during the three-day workshop which was attended by the NNC Web Team that represented the different units of the NNC Central Office and designated web publishers of the NNC regional offices.
In her message, Flores underscored the importance of the world wide web as a powerful medium for promoting good nutrition.
She emphasized the importance of having a strategic web and social media plan which is a very productive and cost-effective way of advancing NNC’s advocacies.
She further encouraged the participants to capitalize on the existing technologies and web applications to make NNC more visible to the public.
Meanwhile, with new standards and guidelines for government websites and opportunities for online advocacies, the general assembly was updated on current social networking practices and oriented on web article writing and publishing. The NNC guidelines on web management was also discussed to ensure harmonized management of its website and social network accounts.
Participants of the 3-day activity are members of the NNC Web Team, representing the different units of the NNC Central Office and designated web publishers of the NNC Regional Offices.#
