New OIC of Pangasinan police assumes post

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDOPangasinan police has a new officer in charge, Regional Director Chief Superintendent Ericson T. Velasquez announced.

Police Senior Superintendent Ronald Oliver Lee took over the helm from Senior Supt. Edgar Alan O. Okubo,  outgoing acting provincial director during a simple ceremony at the Police Regional Office 1’s (PRO1) Matikas Lounge, July 1  in compliance with the PNP’s reshuffling program.

Lee is a member of PMA Tanglaw-Diwa Class of 1992 and awarded as one of the Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in Service (COPS) in 2008.

Okubo headed the Pangasinan police for almost six months from January 7 to June 30, 2016.

The turn over ceremony was presided by PSSupt. Reynaldo G. Biay, former Deputy Regional Director for Operations (DRDO) and now the PRO1’s Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA).

Senior Supt. Jose Arnaldo Briones Jr. was designated as the officer-in-charge of the Office of DRDO.

During the flag raising ceremony held on July 4, a Medalya ng Kasanayan was also awarded to Okubo in recognition of the exemplary service and duty that he rendered as acting PD of Pangasinan. (From a report of the PIO, PRO-1)
