CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO — Police Brigadier General Rodolfo Santos Azurin, Jr formally assumed office as Regional Director of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) during a ceremony held on May 10 at Camp BGen Oscar Florendo, in San Fernando City, La Union.
In his speech, General Azurin expressed his gratitude for the chance to lead PRO1.
He emphasized that the COVID-19 pandemic demands extraordinary approaches to deliver services to the community. He pledged an aggressive partnership with the community to achieve development.
“In the days to come, we shall discuss a specific direction and we need to collaborate with the local government units (LGUs), and partner agencies to come up with a holistic nation’s approach,” PBGen Azurin said.
“Under my leadership, my objective for the Ilocos Region is simplified in two letters of the alphabet only: M+K+K=K (MALASAKIT + KAAYUSAN +KAPAYAPAAN = KAUNLARAN),” he emphasized.
He enjoined his men to give their support to his leadership to achieve PRO1’s objectives and be responsible not to catch or to spread the virus.
General Azurin is a member of the PMA Makatao Class of 1989. He was the director of the PNP Maritime Group before his designation as the Regional Director of Police Regional Office 1.
He replaced Police Brigadier General Joel S Orduña who served as Regional Director for 13 months.
