CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO- Chief Superintendent Roman A. Felix took the helm as Acting Regional Director of the Police Regional Office 1 effective May 23 following an order issued by the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame.
Felix assumed his post during the traditional Monday flag raising ceremony held at the PRO1 grandstand last May 27.
In his speech, he expressed his thanks to President Benigno S. Aquino III, DILG Secretary Mar Roxas and to Chief, PNP Police Director General Alan LM Purisima for entrusting to him the stewardship of PRO1.
In accepting the challenge, Felix stressed his five-point priority action plan for the region giving emphasis on the strong police presence that must be felt and experienced by the community, strong community partnership and collaboration, enhancement of disaster preparedness and response operation capability, review of the PRO1’s Scorecard and assessment of the police’ strategies and initiatives if they are effective and responsive to achieve the objectives and address the problems on the ground.
“At bilang mga kawani ng PRO1, nararapat na lahat ng ating mga alituntunin at gawain ay naka-align sa strategic focus ng ating mahal na Chief, PNP na tinatawag na “CODE-P: 2013 and Beyond”. At mangyayari lamang ito kung tayo ay nagkakaunawaan, nagtutulungan at nagkakaisa upang makamit ang pinakamimithing serbisyong makatotohanan,” he added.
Chief Supt. Felix is a member of the Philippine Military Academy class 1983. He served as Provincial Director of Ilocos Norte, Regional Chief Directorial Staff (RCDS) of PRO1, then as Deputy Regional Director for Operations (DRDO) and eventually as Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA).
Prior to his appointment as the top cop of Region 1, Felix was the director of Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) in Camp Crame.#
