“Eating fruits everyday can keep infections away,” the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (FNRI-DOST) says.
Health authorities say all kinds of fruits is a natural remedy for many diseases. They also say all kinds of fruits are antioxidant which protect against cancer diseases and prevent cell damage.
Our body needs simple sugars, fiber and vitamins as they are essential in attaining optimum health and these can be provided by fruits.
Fruits are low in calories and fact and are rich sources of soluble dietary fiber, which helps lower cholesterol and fats. While it is normal to have cholesterol in the blood as it is used for tissue formation, metabolism and the production of hormones, too much of it can lead to the clogging of the arteries which block the flow of blood to certain parts of the brain, resulting in a stroke.
Fruits also contain many anti-oxidants, vitamin-C, E, D, and B complex and anthocyanins, compounds which not only help the body protect from oxidant stress, diseases, and cancers, but also help the body develop capacity to fight against these ailments by boosting our immunity level.
Fruits rich in blue pigments have potent anti-oxidant properties. They protect our body against cancers, aging, infections and other diseases because they remove free radicals from the body.
