Wilson Caguioa Felix, 41, businessman, and a resident of Brgy. Poblacion, Binmaley, Pangasinan was arrested for Violation of Republic Act 10591 and Republic Act 9516 midnight of October 17, 2018 by joint elements of CIDG RFU1-PFU Pangasinan (lead unit) and Binmaley Police Station.

Pangasinan businessman arrested for possession of firearms, grenade

BINMALEY, Pangasinan – Joint elements of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 1 of Pangasinan and Binmaley Police Station arrested Wilson Caguioa Felix, 41, businessman, and a resident of Brgy. Poblacion, Binmaley, Pangasinan, midnight of October 17, 2018 for violation of Republic Act 10591 and Republic Act 9516.

Felix was arrested through the implementation of search warrants issued by Hon Judge Mervin Jovito Samadan of RTC Branch 70, Burgos, Pangasinan on October 15, 2018.

Confiscated from the possession of Felix were the following pieces of evidence:

  • 1 defaced Norinco cal. 45 pistol (SN 813882);
  • 1 Smith and Wesson cal. 38 revolver (SN: 91625);
  • 1 cal. 22 magnum revolver (SN: R-1061532638);
  • 1 Armscor cal. 9mm pistol without serial number;
  • 10 live ammo for cal.45;
  • 4 live ammo for cal. 38;
  • 6 live ammo for cal. 22;
  • 4 live ammo for cal 9mm;
  • 11 live ammo for cal 5.56mm;
  • 2 magazine for cal. 45 pistol;
  • 1 magazine for cal 9mm pistol; and
  • 1 Rifle Grenade

The operation is part of the Oplan Paglalansag Omega and Oplan Salikop of the CIDG Flagship Projects.

“The Police Regional Office 1 fortifies the implementation of firearms law and continuously curb loose firearms which are most often used by criminal gangs and private armed groups,” PSSupt Herminio S Tadeo Jr, PRO1 Officer-In-Charge said.

The continuous conduct of police operations against loose firearms is also part of the preparation to ensure peaceful and credible elections in May 2019. (TNM / PR – PNP PRO1 PIO)
