Pangasinans No. 2 most wanted person nabbed in Cagayan

PANGASINAN – The 2nd most wanted man here  who is facing charges of statutory rape was arrested in his hideout in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Dec. 14, by the joint elements of the 3rd Company, Regional Mobile Group 1 (RMG1) headed by PSupt. Dionicio Borromeo and the Cagayan Police Provincial Office.

Borromeo identified the suspect as Roel Zamora Sarmiento, 25, married and a native of Barangay San Juan, Umingan, here.

The operatives arrested the suspect based on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Ulysses R. Butuyan of Branch 51, First Judicial Region, Tayug, here.

Sarmiento was accused of raping a 14 year-old girl in 1998, docketed under Criminal Case No. 2281-87 and went on hiding for about eight years.

 He was listed as the No. 2 topmost wanted  person in Pangasinan with a P75,000.00 reward.
