LAOAG CITY – To further address the demand for nursing employment opportunities, the provincial government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN) partnered with BPO companies to provide online health care jobs to all registered nurses in the province.
The project is still part of the Saguip Nars launched by PGIN Task Force Trabaho (TFT) on March 28, 2014 to strengthen Governor Imee Marcos’ ‘Agtultuloy nga asikaso, ad-adu pay a trabaho’ campaign to create more jobs for Ilocanos.
Through the Saguip Nars Program, 100 nurses are currently deployed in the different district hospitals and barangays in the province for six months.
During the launching, Gov. Imee said that PGIN TFT will negotiate with online health care companies in order to provide sustainable support to the nurses in Ilocos Norte.
Public Employment Services Office (PESO) Head Nicole Rudio also said that “the Saguip Nars Program will not only provide actual hospital and field works to the nurses but also a chance to work for private companies while still applying their medical knowledge and skills.”
Applicants for the online health care jobs will be given free training in clinical research and pharmacovigilance or the detection, assessment, monitoring and prevention of adverse effects or any other drug-related problem.
As of now, 118 nurses have already signed up for the two batches of training.
Rudio said the training will start this month of August and interested applicants may visit the PESO at the Provincial Capitol for initial interview and referral or may contact 771-—(Jennifer T. Pambid, PGIN-CMO)
