PNP Chief donates musical instruments to children in conflict with the law

SAN FERNANDO CITY – As he had pledged when he first visited the children in conflict with the law (CICL), Philippine National Police Chief Police Director General Nicanor A. Bartolome, donated musical instruments to the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth in Barangay Urayong, Bauang, La Union last September 1.

The PNP Chief donated one unit Yamaha Digital Piano, 1 unit Yamaha Gig Maker, 5 pieces of drumset, 1 set Sabian SBR Performance, 1 piece Yamaha AC Adaptor, 1 piece Yamaha Single Brace Stand, and 1 Pair Firth Classic Hickory-5 A.

Bartolome also handed out toiletries to the 76 residents of this town.

“Mahalaga kayo sa amin kaya kami ay bumalik dito, nais kong tuparin kung ano man ang naipangako ko sa inyo noong una akong dumalaw sa inyo. Sana’y palagi kayong sumunod sa mga payo ng mga nangangasiwa dito at nang mapatatag ang mithiing mabigyan kayo ng isa pang pagkakataon,” Bartolome stressed.

“This is our way of building their confidence and let them excel and develop their talents to have better options than being swayed to wrong habits,” he added.

Rolando Fortes, RRCY Supervising Houseparent represented Miss Bella Ferrer, RRCY Head in accepting the donations for the CICL.

Police Chief Superintendent Franklin Jesus B. Bucayu, Region 1 police director accompanied Bartolome who came along with Police Directors Samuel B. Diciano, Director for Operations and Roque Ramirez, Director for Comptrollership.

The RRCY is a facility run by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) wherein male juvenile delinquents between 15 to 18 years old undergo intensive treatment and rehabilitation while waiting for the resolution of their suspended cases to prepare them for the reintegration to their families and communities.#
