PRO1 holds Intercolor Sportsfest 2019

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO — In the spirit of camaraderie, the Police Regional Office 1 held its Intercolor Sportsfest 2019 on July 16, 2019 at the PNP PRO1 Parade Ground in San Fernando City, La Union.

The event gave the PRO1 personnel a much needed break and a time to relax in a competitive yet friendly atmosphere.

Personnel from the different offices were grouped into seven teams and were represented by their respective muses. The teams included the Pink Panthers, Red Bulls, White Shark, Black Eagle, Orange Puma, Yellow Bumble Bees and Blue Team.

The Intercolor Sportsfest commenced with the parade of teams and was immediately followed by an opening program where each team presented their yells.

The teams competed in several sports such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis, bowling, golf, lawn tennis and dartspin providing the personnel opportunities to showcase their skills, grit and teamwork.

During the opening ceremony, Police Brigadier General Joel S. Orduña, PRO1 Regional Director stressed that the said activity was a welcome breather from the exacting demands of their daily tasks and a welcome respite after months and weeks of pressure.

“Let us brace ourselves as we begin today with the ball games, and keep in mind that we are here to compete in the spirit of fun and camaraderie. Let us renew our bonds with our fellow police personnel, relax, and enjoy the competition. Each game is a friendly contest that must be done in the spirit of sportsmanship,” he said.

The Orange Puma team garnered the Best in Yell award while the Pink Panthers got the Best Muse award.
