CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO- The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) headed by Police Chief Superintendent Benjamin T. Hulipas, Officer-in-Charge has started its cascading and orientation on “Oplan Lambat-Sibat” last August 26, 2015 in preparation for the launching of Oplan “Lambat-Sibat” in Region 1.
Police Senior Superintendent Marlou C. Chan, Deputy Regional Director for Operations (DRDO), said the cascading of Oplan “Lambat-Sibat” was attended by ranking regional and provincial directors and their staff including the different Chiefs of Regional Support Units.
Chan said it is vital as it requires the PNP personnel and community to be well-informed on the accomplishments and actions of Oplan “Lambat-Sibat” to encourage their interaction and participative involvement,
Chan added that Oplan “Lambat-Sibat” is an Integrated Police Anti-Criminality Campaign wherein it fuses various anti-crime operations such as Oplan Katok, Oplan Bakal/Sita, Oplan Galugad/Bulabog, checkpoints, mobile and foot patrols and intensified police visibility. He added that this is a wide dragnet operation combined with targeted actions which our police personnel on the ground must follow to reduce crimes, improve public safety and contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in their area of responsibility (AOR).
The Oplan “Lambat-Sibat” is also an intelligence driven targeted action of tracker teams to arrest identified Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and requires scientific reporting of crime situation for a strong focus on areas of concern areas, Chan said.
The Oplan “Lambat-Sibat” was first launched in the National Capital Region in June 2014 wherein it reduced crimes of up to 50%, according to Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas.#
