PRO1 strengthens anti-insurgency drive in Pangasinan

PANGASINAN – PCSupt. Leopoldo N. Bataoil, Police Regional Office 1 Director, has coordinated with the police and the military here in a move to secure vital installations in their area of responsibility.

“This will strengthen the anti-insurgency drive of the police and the military and in maintaining peace and order in our region,” Bataoil said.

Bataoil said their visit in San Roque Dam in San Manuel, here along with military personnel led by Col. Anthony Alcantara, the Army’s 702nd  Brigade Commander is in line with Pres. Arroyo’s Executive Order No. 546 which empowers the police, military and local officials to draw up internal security plans in their respective localities to strengthen the fight against terrorism.

PSSupt. Allan Purisima, Pangasinan Police Director, PSupt. Dionicio Borromeo, Group Commander of Regional Mobile Group 1, and Chiefs of Police in the towns of 6th District of Pangasinan accompanied Bataoil in his visit.

Meanwhile, Bill Connel, the Plant Manager of San Roque Multi-Purpose Project Management, assured the officials of their support and cooperation in the security and peace-keeping efforts of the PNP and the military.

Bataoil also met with all the police unit commanders in the 6th District and urged them to continue conducting prophylactic patrols and intelligence operations and to closely monitor the plan of the CPP/NPA on their anniversary on Dec. 29 where they usually conduct terrorist activities.
