Provincial Board orders PENRO, PEO to conduct survey on illegal quarrying

VIGAN CITY – The Provincial Board of Ilocos Sur has recently ordered the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) and the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), as well, in order to conduct survey on the alleged illegal quarrying in some municipalities of the province particularly in Santa.

The issue on the alleged illegal quarrying activities was presented by Provincial Board member Annaliza E. Morales during the regular session of the Provincial Board held recently.

According to Morales, there’s really a need to call the attention of those offices concerned in order to check once and for all these alleged illegal quarrying reportedly undertaken by some unscropulous con-tractors in the province.

“The PENRO and the PEO must do something to check these illegal activities,” the lady board member noted.

As this developed, Morales moved to order both the PENRO and PEO regarding the conduct of survey on the reported illegal quarrying activities in some areas of the province.
