CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – The PNP Model Family of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) award was conferred to Police Inspector Marilyn S. Alviarne and her family during the culmination program of the 20th National Crime Prevention Week held at the PRO1 Concord Building last September 5.
In his welcome remarks, Police Senior Superintendent Allan O. Parreño, Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA) stressed that the reason behind peace and order is not exclusively because of the police, but because of the people within it.
“Truly, police intervention is only part of the solution but community’s contribution plays a vital role in crime prevention,” Parrreño added.
In his speech, La Union Vice Governor Aureo Augusto Q. Nisce, guest speaker of the culmination program, expressed his appreciation to the police for serving round-the-clock crime prevention duties for the safety and security of the people in Region 1.
“While we are sleeping tight at night, the police are busy guarding and protecting us from any harm,” he said.
Stressing the government’s role in crime prevention, the vice governor assured the police of the support of the provincial government as he enjoined everyone to have the passion in serving the community.
