SEA OF LOGS. The heavy flood caused by Typhoon Tisoy brought down hundreds of logs that eventually washed ashore along the coastal towns of Ballesteros, Abulog and Aparri in Cagayan. In Ballesteros town, Jobert Pacnis reports that enterprising residents went hard to work gathering and sawing the logs into lumber, day and night. The presence of so many timber has led some to question whether there are still widespread illegal logging activities in the Sierra Madre mountains. (photo by Jobert M. Pacnis)
