SOLIDARITY GAMES. Two young players set aside their mobile phones for a while to play a game of sungka during the Solidarity Games held at Mira Hills on Sep. 27. Sungka is a traditional game common to many Southeast Asian nations, although the number of holes and the rules of the game have slight variations. In the Philippines, it is played with cowry shells on a long wooden board with seven smaller holes for each player, and two larger holes at each end. The sungka was just one of several traditional games played by participating children during the event which was part of the month-long World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival.
