SAN FERNANDO CITY – The chief of police of Sudipen town and four other police officers were honored as PNP Model Families of Region 1 in a ceremony held in this city recently.
Police Senior Inspector Dominador T. Apostol and his family received their award as Model PNP Family in the region during the kick-off ceremony of the 19th National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) held at the city hall here on September 2, 2013.
Also honored on this date were regional finalists Senior Police Officers 3 Erlinda B. Gagaoin and Arcellie O. Pang-ag and Police officers 1 Hernando A. Aguinaldo and Dominic V. Garcia.
Apostol, the chief of police of Sudipen and a resident of Poblacion, Santol, La Union, and his family romped away with the award for “being God-fearing, responsible and hard working parents in providing the needs for their families while at the same time serving with dedication as police officer”.
“The recognition of our model PNP families will give us inspiration and it will boost the morale of our police personnel to exert more effort in gaining the support, cooperation, trust and confidence of the citizenry. It will also motivate our law enforcers to put more emphasis on their values and ethics in carrying out police service,” the Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Ricardo C. Marquez said.
Spearheaded by the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), the search aims to complement PNP’s priority thrusts of developing competent, disciplined, responsible and values-oriented policemen or women and their families as excellent community leaders and models of notable accomplishment.
The search was first launched in September 2009 with the award given during the annual celebration of NCPW.
The theme for this year’s celebration: “Malasakit Mo ay Kailangan Upang Krimen ay Maiwasan”.#
