ATOP VISIT. Ilocano dancers greet the delegates of the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) as they visit the Vigan Convention Center in Ilocos Sur on Oct. 2. The delegates visited the Heritage City of Vigan as part of the immersion tour during their 20th National Convention. Tourism is a major industry in the Ilocos Region. According to data released by the Department of Tourism, as of May this year tourist arrivals in the region totaled 2,447,401 visitors with Pangasinan having the most number of visitors (foreign and domestic), followed by Ilocos Norte, La Union and Ilocos Sur, in that order.
