CABUGAO, Ilocos Sur – Education Undersecretary Alberto T. Muyot led the Brigada Eskwela campaign at the Salomague Elementary School by planting seedlings at the school’s tree park.
Pupils and teachers accom-panied Usec. Muyot, who planted a mahogany seedling.
Ronel M. Ubaldo, Head Teacher III, said that parents, teachers, barangay and municipal government officials lent their time, resources, and presence in improving the school through the Brigada Eskwela.
The Brigada Eskwela campaign started on May 20 and end on May 25.
At least 70 parents, headed by Reynaldo Lagua, President of the Parent-Teachers’ Association (PTA), took charge of cleaning the surroundings, painting classrooms, and planting trees in the school garden.
In his message, Usec. Muyot asked for the continued cooperation of all stakeholders.
He thanked the PTA officers, teachers, barangay officials, and local government officials who participated in the Brigada Eskwela.
The Brigada Eskwela campaign is annual program of engaging the community to promote volunteerism in improving schools before schoolchildren trooped to their classrooms in June.#
