VIGAN CITY– When French Ambassador to the Philippines, Thierry Mathou, comes back to the province, he will bring with him investors, said Governor Ryan Luis V. Singson on the ambassador’s visit in this city this week.
This is one of the best visits by a foreign ambassador to the province, Singson said, as the talk between him and Mathou was on investments in the province.
“Ambassador Mathou said that he came to the province to link with the provincial government on rural invest-ments, and the investors are looking for areas to develop into resorts,” the governor said.
As the province has 18 coastal towns, these investors have a wide range of choices. These towns are Tagudin, Santa Cruz, Santa Lucia, Candon City, Santiago, San Esteban, Santa Maria, Narvacan, Santa, Caoayan, Vigan, Santa Catalina, San Vicente, Santo Domingo, Magsingal, San Juan, Cabugao, and Sinait.
When the investors will come, they will inspect prospective areas for resorts, and other areas as there are also those who are interested in investing on green energy such as solar, waste water treatment, and the like.
“The province is keen on tourism development which is hoped to generate employment, increase demand of local products, and services,” Singson said.#
